Post feedback about Rocky Glen OHV Park.

Rocky Glen OHV is a loosely managed riding area. It has plenty of trails to keep a family or not-too aggresive rider accupied for about half a day. The MX track is a joke...

Lack of maintainence, and no grooming make it suck.

As of september 07' RG has been under new managment and will be getting a facelift. The facility is 120 acres with winding one-way marked trails through the trees and along the rock river. We have a beginners track area with some small tabletops and such as well as a more advanced track for experienced riders. The tracks are groomed an a regular basis smoothing the faces and landings and re-working the corners. We have added covered haybails to the big track so lanes are designated and people will not be going backwards. If anyone was there and disappointed, please give the park another chance. I guarantee this summer you will be impressed. We also have a myspace if you want to see some pics. www.myspace.com/rockyglenohv. Most were taken either very early or very late in the season.

I am glad to hear it is under new management and seemingly getting some TLC. It has potential but the old management only wanted to sit on their butts and count the cash. They must not have understood the basics of business, keep the customers happy or else the cash flow drys up.

I will give it another shot.

well I have gone there twice now and have seen improvments I take my sons there to ride and its plenty good for them one MAJOR thing I see is a big problem is the parking lot is a terrible free for all people speeding thru it wheelies just out of control. I like racing and riding as much as the next guy but keep it out of the parking lot start cracking down on people that is the one thing I cant stand is when trying to unload quads and some bone head fly's right by you..

I agree with you, we like taking the kids there because it is close to home. But there are a lot of idiots that go flying through the parking lot. Someone is going to get run over or get their beans kicked by a pissed off parent one of these days.

Went to Rocky Glen this weekend and overall it was pretty good. Yes, it is a smaller park but they have packed in a lot of good stuff in the space. The road around the lake is a good back-bone for the park and you can drive around pretty fast. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Off the main road you can link up with the 3 tracks and several trail areas. We have a Polaris RZR and it just fit. Some turns and trails were pretty tight - if you have an RZR-S dont bother, you wont fit.
The trails were REALLY rutted. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Virtually every trail we rode you didn't have to steer much because your ride will just follow the ruts. This could be because it is February and maybe they cant work on them, I don't know because this was my first time. The trails were interesting, albeit short, but I can see how if they were groomed it would be good. The scramble area was GREAT. A neat little curvey track that isn't difficult but fun to drive around.
One really disappointing part was the parking lot. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/001angry.gif) The road that loops around the lake leads right back to the parking lot. So people riding around will cut through the parking lot - and drive REALLY fast. The people running the place apparently didn't notice or care - there was a little kid just a few feet from some a-holes driving 30 through the lot. Come on. A simple redesign of the layout where the riders can only enter the park from one spot I think will really cut down on this.

Pros: Trails, tracks, scramble area
Cons: rutted trails, parking lot
